ITW Quality Engineer Intern in Zeeland, Michigan

Essential Functions:

  • Gather, track, and analyze Quality KPI data.

  • Manage the tracking of Customer and Supplier Scorecards.

  • Assist with the timed improvement of the IATF 16949 Quality Management System.

  • Review key product and process documentation ensuring customer requirements have been accurately transferred down through operator instructions.

  • Manage process improvement and projects related to quality processes improvements.

  • Participate in the design, development and testing of new and existing products and equipment. 

  • Drive improvement in customer complaint handling using the 8D process.  

  • Conduct ongoing analyses of products and processes to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. 

  • Work with operations to drive towards the divisional scrap goal.  

  • Perform Statistical and Root Cause Analysis.  

  • Participate in other quality activities as assigned.

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering or related field

  • Incoming Junior or Senior preferred with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and analyze data

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.

  • Excellent time management skills and project management abilities 

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills 

  • Proficient in MS Office applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc. 

  • Ability to accurately read prints, specifications, procedures, FMEAs, and control plans

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Experience with quality management systems is a plus

  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes is a plus

  • Must be able to move freely, with or without accommodation, throughout the manufacturing environment
