JOB SUMMARY: 

Diagnose failures and recommend appropriate repair procedures. Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Receives direction and supervision from the Service Supervisor.  Work will be performed primarily on Peterbilt vehicles. Receives job assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor. Interacts with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers. Provides mentorship to less-skilled technicians. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as EPA, OSHA, and DOT. Work in a safe manner always at the shop and on the vehicle. Report any safety issues to management immediately. Keep the shop area neat and clean and ensure that vehicle is kept clean. Report to department management immediately anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

  • Individual should be self-motivated.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must have strong time-management skills.
  • Must be able to provide excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair, equivalent military training, or previous equivalent experience is required.
  • Five to seven years of related experience is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of experience. 
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Class A or B CDL Preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
