Job Description Summary

Reporting directly to the Services Leader, the On Site Services Specialist is a key member of the Service team, providing Application Engineering support both internally and externally and conducting Field Service activities at Protection & Control integrators and end customer facilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carry out commissioning activities for Protection, Control, substation automation systems and industrial communications, as well as part of the logistics organization necessary for this.

  • Customer training.

  • Consulting Services in Protection and Control Engineering (Calculation of protection relay settings, configuration of central control units and gateways, studies of coordination and selectivity, short-circuit analysis).

  • Leadership in EHS, carrying out field work in compliance with applicable regulations and promoting safety practices.

  • Act as the main technical resource for field work and lead the resolution of engineering and product problems. Provide technical direction to the qualified workforce in the performance of work in the client's facilities and equipment, ensuring that the work carried out reflects quality standards and attention to details that maintain a professional image for the client and the company.

  • Provide guidance on installation and services, both in the field and remotely.

  • Maintain effective liaison with customers in job planning, execution, sales tracking and support, and internally with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams.

  • Provide accurate and professional external and internal reports on time.

  • Carry out, audit and implement the quality controls required during field activities.

  • Communicate details of project planning and milestones, labor requirements, quality issues, and tools / equipment requirements to the appropriate people.

  • Promote Lean projects / continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Electronic or electrical engineering or equivalent or professional training in the electrical / electronic field

  • Minimum 1 year adequate experience.

  • Project and power plant experience DESIRABLE / NOT REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. Other languages ​​will be valued (French, Italian, German and / or Russian).

  • Experience with electrical protection relays and control systems (LV, MV and HV) - DESIRABLE / NOT REQUIRED

  • Strong technical skills in GE protection relays, industrial communication protocols and SCADAs.

  • Be competent (adequate education, training or experience) to perform assigned tasks, as long as these can cause a significant identified potential environmental impact.

  • Average travelling 150 days/year.
