uGeneral Summary:/uAssist the Head Coach in the recruitment, counseling, conditioning, training and coaching of a varsity team.uPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:/uAdhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.brbrAssist in the organization and direction of all activities of a varsity sport.brbrAssist in the recruitment of prospective athletes to the University.brbrCoach team members individually and in groups, demonstrating techniques of the game.brbrCounsel and advise student athletes with personal or academic problems.brbrReport to one broad area of specific responsibility, as assigned.brbrMake position assignments and determine areas needing improvements.brbrAssist with development of contest strategy.brbrServe as Head Coach in his/her absence.brbrAssist with summer camps and fund-raising activities.brbrPerform related departmental duties as required.uQualifications:/uA Bachelor's degree is required.brbrKnowledge of sport rules, conference rules, appropriate training techniques, and winning play/contest strategies, for assigned sport.brbrThree years previous college coaching experience within the sport is desirable.brbrExperience in counseling and advising student athletes is desirable.
