Universal Health Services PMHNP C/A Psychiatry opening. Weekend call coverage, Youngstown, OH in Youngstown, Ohio

Join Belmont Pines Hospital's dynamic team in Youngstown, OH as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specializing in Behavioral Health patients. We offer acute inpatient and outpatient services for diverse psychiatric issues among adolescents. This weekend call coverage role is focusing on patient care in inpatient and Partial Hospitalization settings, assisting Psychiatrists with admissions, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with psychiatric physicians at Belmont Pines Hospital to provide psychiatric medical care. - Conduct Psychiatric Admitting Evaluations for new patients. - Make appropriate treatment recommendations and orders following initial evaluations. - Monitor patients' psychiatric and medical status, providing necessary interventions. - Communicate with families regarding significant psychiatric and medical issues. - Address emergency needs or crises, providing timely care. - Maintain thorough documentation in patients' medical records, including progress notes and treatment orders. - Participate in utilization reviews with insurance companies. - Provide discharge recommendations and prescriptions for psychiatric medications. - Countersign all telephone orders in patient records.

    Requirements:

  • PhD or Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school. - Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/APRN in Ohio, or willingness to obtain. - Board Certification through ANCC as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric and Mental Health. - Current National DEA certificate.

    Compensation:

  • Independent contractor model. - Part-time employment option available upon request.
