Universal Health Services Children's Cottage RN in YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio

Responsibilities

$5,00 Sign on Bonus

1 to 6 ratio - residential cottage for 6 children in Warren, Ohio

7pm - 7am shift 3 days a week with every other weekend rotation

The Cottage Registered Nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and evaluates patient care for six children ages 6-12 through collaborative efforts with health team members and in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Oversee and directs Cottage Behavioral Counseling Technicians assigned to the cottage. In addition, The Cottage Registered Nurse, participates in the Utilization Review Process as necessary and shares in all aspects of direct care for the six children including but not limited to maintaining food inventory and meal schedule, providing group therapy, transporting patients, fixing meals, cleaning linen and clothing, cleaning common areas, bedrooms and bathrooms and removing trash from the cottage. This position requires flexibility daily and willingness to participate as an active member of a small team delivering whatever services the patients require.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility working with children ages 6-12 preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Ohio State Board of Nursing. Must have a valid driver's license. Must maintain a food handler’s card.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of Crisis Intervention Training (CPI), including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint, immediately following employment and prior to performing patient care. Must pass a medication administration exam and complete a basic developmental and age specific training.
