Intertek Maintenance Technician in York, Pennsylvania

Maintenance Technician

Intertek is searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our Building & Construction team in our York, PA office.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance of fleet vehicles and test equipment, including overhead cranes, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, etc.].

What you’ll do:

  • Follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policies

  • Provide exceptional customer service

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment

  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment

  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment

  • Prepare and maintain records and reports

  • Execute work orders and work independently

  • Perform other work as required

What it takes to be successful in this role:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 5+ years directly related experience working with electrical systems (including computerized induction/ignition systems, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems), HVAC and building systems, welding, and power and hand tools

  • Training in vehicle/construction equipment repair preferred

  • Craft apprenticeship or equivalent production maintenance experience

  • Must possess (or be capable of obtaining) and maintain a DOT medical examiner's certificate to drive a company commercial vehicle, if applicable

  • Mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair

  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle, equipment and building repair and maintenance

  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders in the English language

  • General understanding of building construction techniques

  • Knowledge of the tools and equipment required to perform job duties, and experience using power and hand tools

  • Physical ability to routinely lift at least 75 pounds

  • Physical ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, push, pull, etc. as required to perform job duties

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)

  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate
