Aerotek Machine Operator in York, Pennsylvania

Machine Operator

Location- York, PA

Pay- $18 - $20/hour

Shift : Monday - Friday 5:30am-4pm, OT on Friday 5:30am-10:30am (no OT currently but that will change during the summer months so they need to be comfortable with OT in the long run).

Job Description:

Polishing Machine Operator will finish and polish auto body parts, primarily fenders for fire trucks. Cosmetics of high importance. Candidates who have experience painting on cars, autobody work, etc. will be a great fit for this position.

Job Duties:

• Handle and prepare parts for performing polishing operations with machine polishers and hand tools on metal fenders.

• Operate polishing equipment such as hand files, grinders, disks, rotary sanders and abrasive wheels.

• Remove bumps or indentations in the metal parts without stretching or cutting through the finished piece with care to maintain contours, edges and dimensions.

• Locate and gather materials and supplies needed, check material for correctness and quality.

Additional but not Required Skills:

• Able to work in repetitive movements, requiring good dexterity and hand - eye coordination.

• Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day and lift at least 50 pounds within a non-temperature-controlled environment.

• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including Respirator helmet when working.

• Experience using hand and power tools.

• Willing to work overtime.

• Experience in sheet metal, autobody, and/or foundry experience a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with rolled sheet metal, autobody, and/or foundry experience helpful.

• Ability to work overtime when needed.

• Willing to be a team player and accept other jobs and duties when necessary.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

• Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day and lift at least 50 pounds.

• Respirator helmet use required.
