UPMC Licensed Practical Nurse LPN York, Heart and Vascular Outpatient in York, Pennsylvania

UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute at Memorial Hospital in York is currently looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to their team. The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. Heart and Vascular experience is helpful, but not a requirement of the position. In this position, you will join a great team environment and work in a beautiful, brand-new office with lots of natural sunlight and positive energy. Hours: Core business hours are 8am-4:30pm - willingness to do 7:30a-4pm shift or 8:30a-5pm shift as needed. NO WEEKENDS, NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS!
Responsibilities:
Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs & weight, obtain past medical history and other demographics.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
Complete EKG's as ordered.
Assist with phone calls, triage/assess as needed.
Check out patients- Schedule Cardiac/Vascular testing, procedures, and surgeries.
Place cardiac monitors as needed.
Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Work clinical encounters (in basket messages) in Epic.
Draw blood.
Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Qualifications - Interna
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
1-year clinical experience preferred, but NOT required.
New graduate LPN's welcome to apply.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireClearances must be dated within 90 days
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
