Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. Geotechnical Field Technician in York, Pennsylvania

GTA is currently seeking Geotechnical Field Technicians for our York, Pennsylvania office. Candidates with an interest in building a career in the construction observation, environmental and/or geotechnical consulting fields are preferred.

As a Technician, you will provide a wide range of construction oversight services for geotechnical and environmental focused projects. You will provide field support to geologists, engineers, and scientists for a diverse client base in the private, state and government sectors. Technicians require the ability and willingness to work almost entirely outdoors, perform extensive fieldwork and travel significant distances to project sites. Overtime may be required, depending on the project. GTA will reimburse you for mileage and tolls and pay you "time and a half" for overtime! GTA will provide you with Personal Protective Equipment, which includes High Visibility Vest, Hard Hat, Gloves, and Safety Glasses.

Geotechnical Field Technician EQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or high school diploma/GED

  • At least one year of relevant experience preferred

  • Your own reliable transportation, valid driver's license; and satisfactory driving record

  • Ability to regularly lift to 60 pounds

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic

  • Enjoy Working Outdoors

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available

  • NICET and/or ACI certifications - These are a plus, but not required

  • Must have steel toe boots

This position may require standing for extended durations as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering. The employee must have the ability to use their hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit, see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 60 pounds; and occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).
