The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary

This Distribution Supervisor (3rd Shift) position provides guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of distribution center goals, including those related to budget and cost structure. Provides coaching and mentoring to the Entry Point Value Stream team.

Additional Info:

  • This position is located in York, PA and does not offer relocation.

  • Up to 5% domestic travel

  • 3rd shift – Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-6am

  • This position is 100% on-site (no remote or hybrid schedule is available for this role)

What You Will Do:

  • Making workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.

  • Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintaining a positive distribution center working environment.

  • Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.

  • Ensuring all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs, as necessary.

  • Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.

  • Coaching and mentoring future leaders

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

  • Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.

  • Adherence to safety policies and procedures

  • Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.

  • Problem Solving Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution

  • Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Operational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Customer Service Management: Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
