Overview

The Packaging Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles packaging equipment and related equipment associated with the refinery.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to operate various packaging equipment Reports to Supervisor the general condition of equipment and recommends replacement when necessary Responsible for machine and work area cleanliness Responsible for keeping required records. Performs other duties as may be assigned Work from blueprints, drawings, sketches and verbal orders Utilize his/her tools and equipment in a safe and proficient manner Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on various types of packaging and related equipment Perform repairs and tests on mechanical packaging equipment such as clutch assemblies, gear head motors, reduction drive units and high pressure glue pumps Start the machine and observe the operation to detect malfunction(s) of the machine Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of measurement and weighing systems Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc. Reliable and Predictable In-Person Attendance; Able to work overtime on a daily and weekly basis Ability to: lift up to 50lbs use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, and climb constantly throughout the shift reach, bend, twist, rotate, push and pull frequently work in confined spaces work independently as well as a team player climb up and down ladders WORK EXPERIENCES

Previous experience as a Packaging Technician is preferred but not required Experience in PLC troubleshooting is also preferred but not required

Pay rate range Packaging Tech 1A $33.32; Packaging Tech 1 $35.40 position level will be determined based on experience and in-person assessment.
