The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking an experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professional to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Seeking energetic and engaging Adjunct Faculty to teach Human Relations and/or Workforce Preparation in a variety of vocational programs. Successful candidates will deliver a Human Relations curriculum that includes fundamental elements of human relations and its importance both in personal living and on the job with special emphasis on personal awareness, attitudes and behavior patterns with respect to racial, cultural and social conflicts and interactions, and intelligent decision-making and stress management. The Adjunct Faculty will also deliver a Workforce Preparation curriculum that 1) exposes students to various facets of customer relations including professionalism, work ethics, communication skills, problem-solving and critical thinking and 2) helps students to prepare for job placement and employment. Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and have the ability to work effectively with students who have barriers to employment. Job Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in the field to be taught from a recognized college or university with one year of practical experience in that field. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required; the ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention; experience teaching remotely; and experience using an LMS and Google Classrooms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations strongly preferred. Organization and detail orientation skills strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The hourly rate of pay is $82.57. This position is fully grant funded.
