Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,400 people in the UK. Boeing Defence UK is looking for an ILS Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Engineer (Integrated Support Planning & Management) to support the UK AH-64E Programme and BDUK platform portfolio. As part of the delivery of the UK MOD AH-64E Apache Attack Helicopter Long Term Training and Support Service (LTTSS) contract, BDUK has positioned a Product Services Team. This position will be embedded within that team.

Boeing Defence UK operates an engineering matrix organisation consisting of engineering capabilities that deliver technical skills, expertise and products into our programmes. One of the capabilities is Product Support Engineering (ILS Engineering) which provides the product supportability infrastructure comprising the following technical areas:

  • Logistic Support Analysis

  • Reliability and Maintainability

  • Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis

  • Engineering Data Exploitation

  • Integrated Logistic Support Engineering and

  • Technical Publications

The Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Engineer will support the AH-64E ILS Lead reporting to the BDUK AH64E Product Support Manager through the RCM Lead.

Your Responsibilities will Include:

  • Support the provision of the RCM Support for the Apache, generation of Processes and re-assessment of plans.

  • Support the generation, review and assessment of RCM supporting documentation.

  • Assist in the preparation of material for briefings, meetings and formal working groups (internal and external).

  • Carry out RCM Analysis as required on Apache platform, systems and equipment Maintenance Schedules to optimise Preventive Maintenance activities.

  • Carry out any investigation, as detailed, in accordance with current engineering policy, regulations and orders.

  • Liaison with Systems functions (Engineering, Technical Publications, Supply Chain Management and Training) to ensure the Product Support Team remains informed and aligned with wider BDUK developments and progress.

  • Liaison with the Customer on specific areas of Technical Services.

  • Assist in coordinating Product Support Team deliverables (CDRLs) ensuring timely inputs are received, reviewed and the final output is ready for approval and acceptance process.

  • Highlight any issues or opportunities within RCM at the earliest possible point and where required support mitigation and development plans for addressing highlighted concerns.

  • Work as directed by the Reliability Centred Maintenance Lead and the AH64E BDUK Product Support Manager.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Essential to be able to obtain UK SC security clearance.

  • A Thorough understanding of Support Engineering in the Military environment.

  • A thorough understanding of 4000 series MAA RAs.

  • A proven ability to undertake RCM engineering, previous RCM or MSG3 experience and appropriate training.

  • An understanding and previous experience in RCM /R&M / Data Exploitation is desirable.

  • An understanding of the derivation and creation of Support Product documentation.

  • Ability to work with the cross functional business stakeholders to identify optimisation opportunities and ways in which suppliers can enhance our offering to our clients.

  • Ability to liaise with the OEM platform side of Boeing to integrate the UK solutions with those that exist on the base platforms.

  • Proven ability to drive first time quality.

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Ideally you will be educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering subject (not essential).

  • Experience of R&M in an in-service environment is highly desirable.

  • Experience in ILS in the Military environment is highly desirable.

  • Experience of working with international support standards such as Def Stan 00-600, ASD/AIA Suite of S Series ILS Specifications is desirable.
