Position Specific Description

This position sits within the Power Generation Division which is responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity. The plant is located in Yarmouth, Maine, and Cape Station on Portland Harbor in South Portland, Maine. Combined, the units total 750 megawatts.

  • Focuses on optimizing site electrical maintenance

  • Develops technicians’ skills and knowledge in electrical theory and technical abilities

  • Low, Medium and High Voltage schematic troubleshooting skills

  • Under general guidance position directs a team of technicians, engineers, and contractors involved in scheduled overhauls and plant maintenance.

  • Standardizes processes, procedures, and techniques to ensure repeatability

  • Applies advanced leadership skills for internal employee development and performance management

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Employees in this senior-level role direct a team of production and maintenance technicians and contractors in plant maintenance activities. Individuals in this position lead internal and external resources to Deliver Certainty, executing plant maintenance to achieve short and long term site goals and objectives in safety, environmental, compliance, reliability, availability and cost management.
