Cornell Cooperative Extension Farm Educator, Seasonal - Yaphank, NY in Yaphank, New York

Prepare and present all programs offered in the most current “Field Trips and Outreaches” brochure, both on farm and in schools, libraries, and other community settings. Assist with birthday parties and family programs. Assist with festivals and special events. Assist with day-to-day operations of Farm Education programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Education, or other related field, or High School Diploma and 2 years volunteer or work experience.

  • One year of paid or volunteer experience working with children and/or the public.

  • Ability to learn how to drive van and horse trailer and truck and livestock trailer.

  • Ability to lift 10-20 pounds unassisted.

  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.

  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards, if required.

  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Education, or other related field.

  • Additional education and training in the field of education.

  • Additional education in the areas of agriculture, animal sciences, natural sciences, human development and consumer sciences.

  • Additional teaching experience related to educational areas listed above.

  • Experience teaching subjects related to agriculture, animal sciences, natural sciences, human development and consumer sciences.

    POSITION DETAILS:

    Salary: $17.84 per hour (15 hours per week)

    Schedule: NON-EXEMPT : March 18, 2024 - June 18,2024

    No relocation or VISA Sponsorship available
