Job Details Job Location Yakima - West - Yakima, WA Position Type Internship Education Level Not Specified   Salary Range $16.28 - $16.28 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Category Education Description Position Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated intern to join our early learning department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of early childhood education and contribute to the development of young children and their families. This will include policy review and development, advocacy, and supporting the daily functions within a childcare setting. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young children. Responsibilities: Goal I: Develop parent engagement activities based on ECEAP standards. Review ECEAP guidelines for parent engagement and participation in their child's Early Learning program. Develop parent engagement opportunities to include the reflection of ECEAP requirements of parents in the decision-making process. Collaborate with Family Support Specialists and other team members to learn and document best practices and develop meaningful opportunities for parent engagement. Goal 2: Observe classroom and other early learning best practices. Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate educational activities for young children. Support early childhood educators in planning and preparing learning materials. Observe and interact with children to support their social, emotional, and cognitive development. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for children. Collaborate with staff to support the overall functioning of the early learning agency. Qualifications Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Pursuing or completing a degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field. Passion for working with young children and supporting their growth and development. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Reliable, responsible, and committed to the agency's mission and values. Maintain confidentiality.
