As a WIC Certifier, your tasks will include:

  • Educating clients about the WIC program and benefits and assessing eligibility
  • Conducting health evaluations and providing nutrition recommendations and counseling
  • Referring clients to other services as needed and maintaining accurate records
  • Providing customer service and community outreach while ensuring quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • Experience:

    • One year of customer service experience is required. An associate's degree may replace experience.
    • Experience in reception, nutrition education, working with children/infants, or being a previous WIC certifier or educator is a plus!
  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration:

    • Medical Assistant -- Registered required. Certificate obtained within one year's employment.
    • WIC Certification is required once the training period is completed
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required at level 9 to receive bilingual differential pay
    • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize work and handle various tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
    • Ability to effectively and professionally interact with women, caregivers, infants, children, and staff
    • General knowledge in culturally appropriate practice
    • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
    • Knowledge about basic nutrition concepts desired
