ACCOUNTING MANAGER
ROLE OVERVIEW
We're looking for an experienced accounting professional with a process improvement mindset to help drive changes that make use of best practices and available technologies to deliver lasting positive results. Our ideal candidate is a motivated leader and a strategic thinker. You'll enjoy researching, monitoring, and analyzing financial information to help inform business decisions. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
People
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team members to their optimum performance levels and career development: set goals and clarify expectations, improve performance, and develop teams through 1-1 coaching and daily interaction with team members
Manage department morale and collaboration through effective team building and an understanding of what motivates each individual
Support staff through change management stages: provide transparency, clarity, and education on the value of changes, explore resistance to change together, provide adequate resources, empower employees, help them adopt and adapt
Facilitate consensus, resolve conflicts, and overcome resistance from teams and individuals
Processes
Analyze current accounting processes and identify areas for improvement: simplifying workflows, reducing redundancies, eliminating bottlenecks, leveraging available technologies.
Develop predictive financial models, conduct benchmarking, and process analysis to support organizational decision-making
Responsible for developing, documenting, communicating, and monitoring internal controls
Make recommendations that will allow for increased efficiency, streamlined processes, and utilization of available technologies
Organize and enable quality improvement efforts, aligned with business and customer priorities
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus for your team that align with this vision
Continually monitor process effectiveness and provide CFO with status updates
Performance
Consolidate and analyze financial data, taking into account company's goals and financial standing
Work with the Controller and global counterparts to ensure timely general ledger closing to include account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
Conduct on-line banking maintenance and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Assist with the year-end audit and tax schedule preparation and fieldwork, including participating in status update meetings
Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
Conduct business studies on past, future, and comparative performance
Assemble and summarize data to present sophisticated reports on financial status and risks to effectively enable sound strategic decision making
Identify trends and provide creative alternatives and recommendations to improve financial performance
Evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation
Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data
Cover AR and AP desks as needed to ensure daily operations are uninterrupted
Maintain updated job knowledge to remain informed about best practices and developments in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments
Support and lead miscellaneous projects as assigned by Chief Financial Officer
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, manufacturing cost accounting experience preferred
At least 3 years of experience in supervising a team of 3 or more, with excellent leadership skills
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications
Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
Must pass a preemployment drug and background screening
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

ALL THE DETAILS…
Pay commensurate with experience: $96,829 - 110,806 a year
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Insurance Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Life and Disability Insurance plans (60 day waiting period)
Retirement Benefits: 401K Plan with company match (90 day waiting period - restrictions apply)
Paid Time Off: (90 day waiting period, prorated for first year)
Vacation: 160 hours a year, with increases based on years of service
Holidays: 70 hours a year (8.5 days): One Floating Holiday, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, half day on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
Sick Leave: 40 hours a year, accrued at 1 hour per 40 hours worked for hourly employees, salary employees prorated for first year
Other Compensation: Employees may be eligible for annual performance bonuses
Location: Yakima, Washington.
Work environment: Office environment in a manufacturing facility. Occasionally bends, squats, reaches, kneels, and may lift up to 15 lbs. on occasion. Constantly seeing, hearing, talking.
