Basic Job Functions:

  • Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.

  • Weigh and purchase inbound scrap, obtaining required information from customers for all transactions. Complete purchasing and shipping documents.

  • Control traffic patterns in yard.

  • Perform general office administration duties.

  • Serve as a back-up cashier, greeter and possibly other positions as needed.

  • Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other teammates as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines.

  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities while providing a high level of support in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have excellent customer service, written and verbal communications, organizational and time management skills.

  • Must have the willingness to go the extra mile learning the scrap metal recycling industry.

  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, work independently and multitask.

  • Computer experience, including Microsoft Excel and Word and the ability to learn in house systems.

  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

  • Flexible to work overtime in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
