Understands how own activities contribute to team and wider organizational goals. Performs Reclaim Grinding, Grinding, and/or Planing queue management and other jobs as needed tosupport the overall plant mission of making quality product better, faster, and at the lowest cost.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform Grinding and/or Planing queue management. Manage Grinding and Planing queue areas by making sure operators have materials available to grind or plane.
  • Operate equipment, build pallets, operate scrap saw, etc. to expedite queue through the finishing process.
  • Perform or backfill duties performed by Grinding and Planing operator, as needed.
  • Ability to set-up and operate equipment. Equipment may include but is not limited to: PMVs, Powered Saws, Reclaim Grinder, Centerless Grinders, Sundstrand and Acme grinders, Planer, Automated Flipper and Baler, Table Saws, Precision Saws, Printers, Extruders, etc.
  • Run Reclaim Grinder according to the SOPs.
  • Perform TPE puck precision cutting, packaging, and inspection.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to diagnose and eliminate problems incurred in the reclaim grinding process.
  • Record, maintain, and report accurate reclaim grinding production records and work documentation.
  • Initiate/communicate quality, safety, and process improvement actions.
  • Inspect all products and use all tools required to control specified requirements.
  • Perform periodic minor maintenance of reclaim grinder and associated equipment.
  • Make disposition on scrap.
  • Assist maintenance, supervision, and/or engineering personnel in problem-solving and new equipment to maximize efficiency and prevent downtime.
  • Maintain work areas and company property to an acceptable housekeeping cleanliness (5S).
  • Safely operate Powered Motor Vehicles (PMVs).
  • Comply with all company policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Take appropriate action in emergencies.
  • Attend courses for training and retraining as required.
  • Perform all duties as well as additional duties requiring low skill ability as assigned by supervision or lead person.

Principal Accountabilities/Knowledge:

  • High school diploma or equivalent English reading, writing, mathematical, and comprehension skills.
  • High degree of self-motivation and initiative to recognize and anticipate what needs to be done and get it done based on priorities and needs with limited direction.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions provided in SDS sheets, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job safety analysis (JSAs).
  • Working knowledge and capable of accurately using measuring/testing equipment. (examples: tape measure, micrometers, UT, surface roughness, etc.).
  • Physically able to perform work assignments.
  • Good communication skills; computer literate.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Movex or SAP).
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Is committed to Injury Free Concept. Follows all safety requirements necessary to be injury-free while performing work.
  • Shift is7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
