Tower Health Staff Accountant - THAH in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania

Supports the Accounting Coordinator and Director of Finance & Revenue Cycle with the preparation of monthly financial statements for all Corporations.

Job Responsibilities

-Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files and identifying accrual items.

-Completes multiple bank account reconciliations.

-Prepares and maintains monthly account reconciliations for deferred revenue, fixed assets, prepaid, etc. accounts.

-Reviews accounts payable invoices for verifying account numbers and the identification of balance sheet items such as prepaid, fixed asset, etc.

-Maintains daily cash balances and assists with recording deposits.

-Reconciles accounts receivable accounts to the general ledger balances and researches and resolves discrepancies.

-Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.

-Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

-Participates in the preparation of year-end accounting schedules for auditors, tax forms, and regulatory reporting requirements.

-Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the Corporation.

-Assists in the bi-weekly payroll process.

Education and Experience:

Bachlor's Degree required. Bachlor's Degree in Accounting and 2 years relevant experience preferred.

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Skill in using a calculator, PC, printer, and photocopier. Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Previous experience with a computerized general ledger, preferably Lawson. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge of the medical industry and insurance billing a plus.
