Job Description Summary

The Heat Exchanger engineering department needs to reinforce its team with a Mechanical Condenser Lead Engineer. The engineer will be in charge to perform mechanical design of condenser as per applicable codes, standard and internal rules to be created and maintained. Engineer must ensure the quality of the manufacturing drawing as per calculation and good engineering practice.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Executing if required the analytical mechanical calculations for the sizing of products during tender phase

  • Executing contract and specification reading to identify critical areas prior designing equipment

  • Executing and leading the mechanical sizing of products considering client specifications and directives, internal guidelines, design instructions, input data and conception rules,

  • Checking the documentation and notes sent to clients,

  • Checking the manufacturing drawing of equipment

  • Organizing, presenting or participating to internal design review

  • Participating on demand to the client clarification meetings

  • Working in interface with thermal engineering and manufacturing quality teams for design optimization

  • Working in interface with mechanical integrity team, to communicate assumptions to be considered

  • Being able to challenge Mechanical integrity team by checking boundary conditions or other modeling assumptions of Finite Element model and calculation results

  • Being able to answer to customer issues

  • Contribute to design rules updating. Providing proposals for design improvement and cost reduction initiatives based on project’s return of experience.

  • Being able to deal with new problematics (mainly mechanical issues, manufacturing issues, regulatory issue)

  • Review the Concession Request(s) (CR) and / or Non-Conformity Report (NCR) related to Products in manufacturing

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations, including Nuclear Safety requirements

  • Ensuring compliance to EHS rules. Contributing to EHS improvement on the whole product life cycle

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience in Engineering activities in industrial environment

  • Experience in power plant engineering,

Technical Know-how

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering physics

  • Strong knowledge in structure codes (Like Eurocode 3, CM 66),

  • Good knowledge of FEA principles, skills in FEA software (as ANSYS) helpful.

  • High Capability of making clear calculations and documents like calculation notes, internal guidelines

  • Knowledge in pressure vessel codes and heat exchange equipment standards and guidelines (ASME, EN13445, CODAP, AD2000 mandatory, WRC107, RCCM, GB-150, TEMA, HEI), helpful, (but not mandatory)

  • Knowledge of at least one pressure vessel calculation software (AutoPipe Vessel, Compress, PVElite) helpful, (but not mandatory)

  • Knowledge in engineering technical drawings construction and drawings good engineering practices, familiar with CAD tools: CATIA, Autodesk products or equivalent.

  • Knowledge in plant guidelines & diagrams as P&ID reading and checking.
