Job Information

ASM Global Banquet Captain in Worcester, Massachusetts

This position oversees all Banquet Functions to include, coffee breaks, buffet, plated and reception events all functions serving any food & beverage items . This position also oversees banqu ets in the absence of the Food & Beverage Banquet Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for catered events of approximately 10 – 2000+ guests

  • Train all Banquet Servers and Back aisle Attendants.

  • Fulfil l the service per each Banquet Event Orders (BEO)

  • Communicat e with meeting planners to ensure all needs have been met

  • Conduct pre-meal briefings

  • Prepare tasks for function rooms settings, station diagrams, and side work lists

  • Maintain all Banquet equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.

  • Maintain a Health Department score of 90 or higher.

  • Must be creative in designing buffets and coffee break décor.

  • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must

  • Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with clients during events.

  • Record keeping (Attendance, Function Reports, Server Evaluations)

  • Other duties deemed necessary by Food & Beverage Banquet Manager

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervises all Part-time banquet staff as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required .     EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • At least 5 year s of experience in a banquet facility servicing meals for large events.

  • ServS afe certified ( Food Handler, Allergen, and Alchohol trainings) within 1 st 90 days

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to be creative with buffet presentations and maintain a quality product.

  • Attention to detail and service oriented.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends, mid-shifts, early mornings.

  • Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication and inter-personal skills.

  • Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility.

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to push/pull/lift 50lbs on a consistent basis.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Intermediate computer skills, especially with MS Excel
