Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with various separation/detection platforms (PA800+, GXII-Touch, Maurice, iCE3, & UPLC/HPLC with UV, fluorescence, CAD or MS detection) & robotic liquid handlers (Protein Maker, Hamilton Star, and Tecan).

  • Support early & late-stage CMC development activities including cell line development (CLD), cell culture development (CCD), & purification development for product quantitation, product quality & process impurities for biologic molecules.

  • Develop & implement small-scale protein purification workflows by employing experience in protein purification techniques such as FPLC, IEX, SEC, HIC, etc.

  • Develop & implement high-throughput & automated chromatography (HPLC/UPLC, etc.), capillary electrophoresis (icIEF, CE-SDS, etc.) & spectroscopy (UV-Vis, etc.) based analytical methods for protein characterization.

  • Organize & document experiments & results in electronic lab notebook (ELN) and lab informatics management system (LIMS).

  • Author technical memos & technical reports.

  • Employ experience in chromatography data software (ChemStation, Empower, etc.) and electronic notebook software (IDBS ELN, etc.).

  • Provide analytical support for process development, process characterization, PPQ, and GMP campaign for biologic entities.

  • Responsible for utilizing different separation techniques such as icIEF, SEC, CEX & Poros A.

  • Serve as Separation Lead for pipeline biologics programs.

  • Responsible for data interpretation & trending to enable data-driven decision making with other functional teams (CC,CLD, Purification, & Pilot Lab).

  • Improve operational workflows & data management workflows.

Qualifications

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a highly related field of study with at least 2 years of related experience.

In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a highly related field of study with academic or industrial background in related field.

Each alternative with academic or industrial background in:

  • developing & implementing small-scale protein purification workflows by employing experience in protein purification techniques such as FPLC, IEX, SEC, HIC, etc;

  • developing & implementing high-throughput and automated chromatography (HPLC/UPLC, etc.), capillary electrophoresis (icIEF, CE-SDS, etc.) & spectroscopy (UV-Vis, etc.) based analytical methods for protein characterization;

  • chromatography data software (ChemStation, Empower, etc.) & electronic notebook software (IDBS ELN, etc.); &

  • providing analytical support for process development, process characterization, PPQ, & GMP campaign for biologic entities.
