Wooster Motor Ways Diesel Mechanic – 2nd shift - Wooster Motor Ways in Wooster, Ohio

Wooster Motor Ways is currently looking to add a to our 2^nd^ shift team of Diesel Mechanics in our Wooster tractor-trailer garage to service our equipment along with our growing outside customers. The primary function of our Service Team is to provide preventative maintenance and various repairs on semi-trailers and/or diesel trucks in line with company and DOT standards.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
  • Performing all preventative maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections and complete repairs in accordance with DOT requirements
  • Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment
  • Adjust brakes, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
  • Raise trailers, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
  • Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions
  • inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
  • Must be able to read and understand WMW policy, repair, maintenance and follow WMW safety regulations and guidelines
  • Strong Diagnostic Skills
  • Performing system repairs to include engines, transmission, air and hydraulic systems, tires, drive-train, steering and suspension, electrical and A/C
  • Occasionally move parts and/or materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
  • Repair and adjust seats, doors, and windows, and install and repair accessories.
  • Must be able to read and understand WMW policy on repair and maintenance and follow WMW safety regulations and guideline.

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Welding/fabrication experience
  • Commercial Driver's License
  • ASE certifications

Other Physical Requirements

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must be able to stand/kneel/bend. Working mechanical garage environment standing on concrete flooring; temperature influenced by outside climate; noise levels dependent on equipment in use.
