Introduction

This role is to provide effective leadership to drive a systematic approach to risk identification, mitigation and safety management through engineering solutions, communicate and mentor other engineers on site-wide Safety policies and processes and compliance with all local environmental, health and safety laws.

Your Job

  • Implement programs and monitor compliance to local Safety legislations, site and GlobalFoundries EHS programs for employees, contractors, suppliers, vendors and visitors

  • Promote EHS policies and procedures awareness of GlobalFoundries employees, contractors, suppliers, vendors and other visitors

  • Conduct Safety audits, create and follow up corrective and preventive actions as necessary to support the goal of zero non-conformity

  • Develop, conduct and assess EHS training courses for employees, contractors, vendors and other visitors as necessary.

  • Maintain EHS-related systems including chemical management, gas detection and calibration, permit-to-work, management of budget / contract / schedule / troubleshooting and personnel as required.

  • Establish safety specifications, standards and programs including but not limited to process safety, accident and injury prevention, emergency preparedness programs, compliance, targets and objectives.

  • Perform or support risk assessments, Safety Case Analysis and / or Pre-task Plans to mitigate potential risks to human health and environmental issues.

  • Recommend and implement engineering controls, operating procedures and other methods to eliminate or reduce hazards affecting safety and health.

  • Manage and maintain IH programs (for example Ergonomics, PPE, Radiation Protection, and Hearing Conservation etc.)

  • Liaise with appropriate authorities e.g. Occupational Health nurse, Company doctor, insurers on matters relating to engineering/environmental health.

    Required Qualifications :

  • Education: A technology-related Bachelor’s degree / Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety with a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree in a technology field with a minimum of 1 year of related experience.

  • Experience: Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining proactive, environmental, health, safety and/or industrial hygiene programs; Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and agency practices are also required; and Professional certification in environment, health or industrial hygiene, safety and training preferred.

  • Fluency in English Language : – Excellent written & verbal communication and presentation skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP)

  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a global matrix-team or environment
