Lockheed Martin Production Tech II in Woodland, Washington

Sets up and operates variety of woodworking machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and repair aircraft interior components and high grade furniture by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Work off of blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed

Marks outline or dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock

Sets up and operates woodworking machines such as power saws, jointer, to cut and shape parts

Trims component parts of joints to ensure snug fit

Bores holes for inserts, pins or dowels

Glues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit

Drives fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints

Sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing

Installs hardware such as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls

Ability to read all types of aircraft drawings. Applicant must display attention to detail and have strong technical skills with the ability to problem solve. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
