Description

Location: UCHealth PPRH Main Hospital, US:CO:Woodland Park

Department: Emergency Med Admin

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $27.61 - $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary:

Provides pre-hospital continuing education and quality improvement programs. Maintains emergency response programs, including hazardous materials response, hospital incident command system, and emergency preparedness initiatives. Develops funding programs and responds to grant requests.

Responsibilities:

Serves as a liaison between pre-hospital care agencies, hospital departments, community agencies, and institutions concerned with pre-hospital care and emergency response.

Manages the Hazardous Materials Emergency Response program with other staff. Assists with hazard and vulnerability analysis and emergency operations planning. Collaborates on implementation of homeland security, incident command, and other emergency preparedness education, ensuring compliance with regulatory entities.

Serves as a technical specialist and subject matter expert in hazardous materials and emergency management. Promotes clinical practice of pre-hospital care providers. Manages quality improvement programs in collaboration with EMS Medical Directors.

Reports on statistics, annual summation, and budget requests. Maintains continuing education programs for pre-hospital care providers. Coordinates integration and evaluation of practical skills evaluation for pre-hospital care providers.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Essential:

  • Basic Life Support

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • Other information:

Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED.

Preferred: Successful completion of Colorado EMS Primary Instructor course.

Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. ACLS.

Minimum Experience: 5 years of directly related experience.

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
