Possesses the knowledge that is relevant to interpret the servicing and maintenance of Fire Alarm systems. Ability to provide a proficient ability to identify and restore system trouble conditions, understanding all code requirements, manufacturers specifications, and the general standards of customer service practice. Ability to conduct site surveys, system inspections and identify deficiencies as necessary and the ability to write service tickets as required. Knowledge as it applies to corresponding systems, including but not limited to, Fire Alarm and relevant detection and notification systems. Must be familiar with NFPA 72, including recent updates, and the intent of the code. Familiar with NYC and Long Island local building codes and their fire alarm code requirements Has general knowledge of fire systems, including fire detection, mass notification, fire dynamics, smoke management, egress codes, and egress systems. Possesses general knowledge of fire alarm system installations for varied applications. Candidate should be able to orally communicate technical issues to supervisors, managers, project engineers, contractors, and field technicians as well as people with a nontechnical background. Candidate must possess writing skills, capable of writing reports, and facilitating effective internal and external communication.
