Millerbernd Manufacturing Co. Shipping Supervisor in Winsted, Minnesota

NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring a Shipping Supervisor for our Transportation and Infrastructure business unit. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, management, and accountability for a team of shipping coordinators, drivers and material handlers in alignment with the company’s objectives, core values, and safety standards. This is an onsite role based in Winsted, MN.

As a Shipping Supervisor, you will:

  • Provides day-to-day work direction to the Transportation & Infrastructure logistics team, focused on maintaining steady workflow, resource allocation, and productivity

  • Leads logistics team, including providing direction to Team Leads, with Core Values to assure completion of weekly and monthly schedules that meet or exceed Company expectations.

  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinate work activities with other leaders

  • Adjust or recommend enhancements in day-to-day department processes

  • Share and exchange relevant information with both internal and external parties to reach solutions

  • Provide direction and ensure all team members are trained and cross train in accordance to work instructions/standard operating procedures and customer requirements

  • Provides leadership to employees in the department including hiring, performance management, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions

  • Facilitates communication, coordination, and conflict resolution within and among work groups following company policies

  • Conducts start-up meetings; provides visual insights to team members

  • Ensures all inspection and work order sign-offs are being met

  • Be a safety champion on and off the production floor

  • Complete all safety training, Gemba Walks, and safety audits

Role Qualifications as a Shipping Supervisor:

  • Preferred candidates will have an Associate’s degree or equivalent knowledge of technical and operational practices within logistics

  • Prior experience providing direction and building a high-performing team

  • Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered

  • Understanding of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution

  • Understanding and working knowledge of a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience using an ERP system
