Warehouse Fabrics Warehouse Worker in Winfield, Alabama

Job duties may include the following:

  • Process fabric orders online for customers.
  • Pack and unpack fabric items for stocking on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, and/or supply rooms.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Receive and count stock items, recording data manually or by using computer.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Assist other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Prepare/maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, damages of stock or stock-handling equipment, and goods used/issued.
  • Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing, or assembling them as necessary.
  • Advise retail customers or internal users on the appropriateness of fabric material or supplies requested.
  • Issue/distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers/coworkers using appropriate shipping software (FedEx Ship Manager, USPS Endicia Professional, etc.).
  • Choose proper packing materials to keep shipping within budget and send to proper location.
  • Unload shipments from trucks.
  • Perform light cleaning and inventory management, including sweeping warehouse, straightening rows, and sweeping/mopping the shipping area.
  • Research fabric online for comparisons with stock.
  • Check fabric yardage on QuickBooks.
  • Confer with engineering/purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock availability/procurement. Purchase new/additional stock or prepare documents for said purchases.
  • Perform minor operator maintenance on rolling tables.
  • Performminor IT work, including installing equipment and communicating with outside repair facilities to repair computer, network, and software-related issues.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.
