Job Title: Survey Crew Member

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Survey Crew Member, where you will coordinate daily with field coordinators, project managers, and other office staff. Your responsibilities will include supervising all members of the survey crew, working safely and adhering to all safety regulations, and operating independently when required. You will handle the daily uploading and downloading of data from collectors, maintain and charge survey instrumentation, and continually advance your knowledge with technological upgrades. This role offers substantial growth opportunities within our survey operations, starting as an instrument man with potential progression to a rod man.

Hard Skills

  • Experience running a crew using robotic total stations and GPS

  • Proficiency with Trimble or other survey equipment (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, Data Collectors)

  • Familiarity with software such as Totalstation, Microstation, and AutoCAD

Soft Skills

  • Strong willingness to learn

  • Ability to follow directions precisely

  • Focus on quality of data collection

  • Basic mathematical calculation skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in WINDSOR MILL, Maryland.

Work Environment

This role involves reporting to the Party Chief / Field Coordinator, assisting in carrying out survey tasks safely, effectively, and in accordance with contract documents. You will work primarily outdoors, ready to face various weather conditions, with a guarantee of 40 hours of weekly work during inclement weather by assisting indoors, learning CAD, etc. Opportunities for career growth are plentiful in this role.
