GE Vernova Regional Application Engineer (Americas) in Windsor, Connecticut

Job Description Summary

A Regional Application Engineer (RAE) will be executing high quality solutioning efforts for Gas Power Services portfolio. RAE will be accountable for creating a technical solutions path for Upgrades/Retrofits, supporting demand forecasting/growth strategies, and be able to position GE's technology leadership to the customers.

The position requires up to approximately 20% travel.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, value, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO process while interfacing with the commercial and Sales team. Possesses a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies. It includes technical analysis of client need: definition and optimization of the products, scope, performance, cost while considering contract and internal tools and procedures. Calculation of plant, system and equipment performance and efficiency. Documentation of technical specifications & costing elements for further contract execution phases.

  • Developing specialized knowledge in Services portfolio. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Leads technical strategy development.

  • Uses high level of judgment to make trade-offs and handles complex tasks or problems in areas of Application Engineering. Has ability to assess quality of technical information and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a plan.

  • Manage opportunity-specific functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

  • Help forecast demand and plan account development for Americas. Work with regional sales to support CM&U op plan, and work with Engineering in its ability to serve.

  • Advocate for customers to build/ manage NPI growth. Work with Product Management to introduce better products.

  • Position GEV for our Users. Build and promote competitive intelligence and present technologies/updates to our Users in Energy Transition.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least 6 years of customer-facing experience in gas turbine technology.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to travel within United States (up to 20% of the time).

Desired Characteristics

  • Prior GT Performance and/ or Controls experience

  • Master's degree in Engineering.

  • Experience in plant technologies, performance, and/or controls.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $111,200.00 - 185,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.
