POSITION SUMMARY Job Title: Electrical and Mechanical Drafter Department: Engineering Reports To: Supervisor/Department Manager Location: [Insert Location] Salary Range: $53,000 - $63,000 Job Summary: The Electrical and Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical assemblies, and mechanical drawings for industrial products. This includes automotive-style electrical harnesses, control cabinet wiring, and various mechanical components and assemblies. The role also involves generating Bills of Materials (BOM), applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to mechanical drawings, and working with the ERP system. Proficiency in CAD systems and adherence to engineering standards and ISO 9001 guidelines are essential. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Electrical Drafting: Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire to/from lists, and electrical harness drawings using IEC standards. Verify accuracy and compliance with engineering standards. Mechanical Drafting: Design detailed mechanical components and assemblies. Create assembly drawings, component descriptions, and instructions. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure precision. Design Development: Develop original design drawings from engineering sketches and ideas. Bill of Materials (BOM): Generate and maintain BOMs for electrical and mechanical assemblies. Update BOMs as needed based on design changes. Quality Control: Review drawings for accuracy, including GD&T for mechanical designs. Time Management: Estimate time for drafting tasks. Engineering Changes: Review and process Engineering Change Requests; update BOMs and documents in ERP system. Miscellaneous: Perform other duties as assigned. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES ISO 9001 Compliance: Ensure documentation and processes meet ISO 9001 standards. Professional Development: Engage in training and stay updated on industry practices. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Required: Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience (electrical and mechanical) using 2D and 3D CAD systems. Proficiency in applying GD&T to mechanical drawings. Experience with BOMs and ERP systems. Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills. High School diploma or equivalent with CAD certification. Preferred: Experience with SEE Electrical and/or SolidWorks for electrical drafting. Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for mechanical drafting. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong teamwork and communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design. Problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent with CAD certification.
