Job Summary:

These dynamic positions bridge the roles of a Buyer and a Planner, making it essential to the procurement and planning processes for our aerospace customers. The role demands a proactive approach to managing the procurement of materials, components, and services, as well as planning the movement of these items through production and inventory processes. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the efficient flow of resources to meet production needs and organizational goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the procurement of materials, parts, components, and services, ensuring they meet quality and schedule requirements.

  • Plan and schedule the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory processes.

  • Evaluate and manage procurement activities based on immediate and future demand requirements, utilizing part demand reports.

  • Generate, track, and follow up on open purchase orders and plan materials movements to support production schedules.

  • Maintain and control planning parameters in the ERP system, ensuring the integrity of planning and scheduling data.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement and planning processes.

  • Maintain proper inventory levels for assigned areas/locations, supporting Master Scheduler in parts analysis and parameter adjustments.

  • Ensure accurate and timely communication with suppliers for updates on order status and expedite orders as necessary to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a relevant field. Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.

  • Minimum three years of experience in procurement, purchasing, planning, or a related supply chain role in an engineering and manufacturing environment. Seven or more years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Proficient in SAP and/or other ERP/MRP systems, with a strong understanding of planning parameters and master production planning.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers, customers, and team members.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • US Citizenship required due to the nature of work in the aerospace sector.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with Jira and/or CostPoint (Deltek) software is a plus.

  • Certification by ISM (Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity) or equivalent is preferred.

  • A fundamental understanding of data systems, data management, and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and requirements.

Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $28.00-39.00 per hour. Guidelines vary based on many factors including but not limited to education, qualifications, experience, discipline, geographic location, market, and business considerations.
