JOB SUMMARY

Performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient admissions

Minimum Education High school diploma or equivalent or post secondary education diploma Associate’s degree Preferred

Non-Essential Functions ?

• Perform other duties as assigned. • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned. • Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS. • Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary. • Accepts all call schedule as directed. • Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

Essential Functions ?

Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.

Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.

Meets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.

Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.

Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.

Assists Director in ensuring schedules for all three locations are running efficiently.

Ensure coverage of office staff at all three locations, as as coordination of clinical staff schedules.

Order office supplies and linens for all three locations.

Report daily volume numbers of all 3 clinics to Director for staffing matrix. Manage cancellations/no-show rates through patient outreach via phone notifications/follow-up and rescheduling patients. Scheduling of new patient evaluation appointments in collaboration with the therapist. Assist therapists in auditing charts upon discharge.
