Whitsons Culinary Group SCHOOL CAFETERIA WORKER – WINCHESTER SCHOOL NUTRITION in Winchester, Massachusetts

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for making and serving nutritious meals for students in a safe and healthful manner. Mon - Fri 8:00AM - 1:30PM-locations/hours subject to change Assists in preparing of food and have some cooking skills. * Serves meals to students and staff. * Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping of floors, cleaning of equipment and work areas, dish & pot washing * Fills beverage machines & vending machines, sets up hot and/or cold food area. * Delivers, when necessary, food to staff, students and catering events. * Prepares and serve food according to menus, ability to read receipes and follow Prepare Salad Bar & Deli Bar according to program plans Ability to use a slicer * Checks and stores incoming supplies. * Serve Safe Certified a plus * Participates on safety & training courses as required. * Attends all mandatory in-service programs and training * Supports the goals, objective and mission statement set forth by Whitsons. * Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: * High school graduate or equivalent. * Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments, including reading and understand recipes. * Extensive physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting , bending, pushing, and pulling. * Ability to use POS system * Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment. * Always present a positive and professional image. * Basic English Reading and Writing Skills * Able to Pass Background Screening * Able to pass strict background screening * ServSafe Certification a plus but not required PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
