Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by coordinating the Hospital catering services for events and meetings. This position is a combination of administrative and skilled catering professional. The Lead Event Service Specialist will organize, set up and deliver requested catering services to specific requested location or conference room. Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers. Provide customers with efficient and attentive service while exceeding the customer’s expectations.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Associate's Degree or 2 years of hospitality experience

Experience in an institutional setting with attention to allergy and diet restrictions

For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Works collaboratively with the Retail Operations Supervisor, Executive Chef, and other managers to provide support to the retail operations

Cashiers, stocks, and serves for the Coffee Shop, off-site 620 Café and catering.

Must be able to direct employees in all Food Service areas.

Ensures all service areas are staffed appropriately.

Monitors the completion of job duties and special assignments.

Completes stocking of all appropriate areas.

Oversees organization and cleanliness of these locations.

Anticipates and meets customer services needs.

Takes appropriate steps to rectify issues and strives to achieve superior customer satisfaction.

Strives for operational efficiency and cost containment.

May assist in assembling of prepared foods/items as needed.

Lead:

Demonstrates retail operations and catering expertise and fosters a climate of superior customer service.

Troubleshoots operational issues and customer service calls and complaints.

Provides performance feedback of staff to managers.

Fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Addresses safety concerns promptly.

Gives input into the performance evaluation process.

Coaches and mentors staff so to expand their knowledge and competence in food service.
