THE POSITION

Seasonal Position / Non-Benefited / No Guarantee of Hours

Seasonal positions available, work hours will vary according to department need. The position may work as much as 40 hours/week, but there is no guarantee of hours

Job Summary:

This position performs routine accounting and clerical support duties for Salmon Harbor Marina. Position assists RV guests by processing reservations, confirmations and cancelations; check guests in and out of RV Resort; account receivables and posting payments; collections; respond to inquiries regarding the RV Resort and surrounding area.

Essential Functions:

This is not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job.

  • Accounts payable and receivable duties, including collections.

  • Record and post daily receivables and daily transactions.

  • Prepare daily transmittals and daily bank deposits.

  • Process payments via cash, checks and credit card for camping, extra vehicles, boat and ATV trailers, miscellaneous sales (clothing, glasses/mugs, firewood, tables, TV/cable/ sewer connections, gifts, copies, facsimiles, etc.).

  • Reconcile daily cash receipts/drawers according to Salmon Harbor Marina and Douglas County cash handling policies

  • Compute, prepare and process, mail and email billing/confirmation

  • Review and prepare daily, bi-monthly, and monthly ledgers/reports

  • Answer questions regarding fiscal, financial and statistical data regarding receivables and transactions.

  • Receive, distribute and file invoices, receipts, forms, correspondence, etc.

  • Process, confirm and cancel reservations.

  • Check guests in and out of RV Resort.

  • Customer service via walk-in, phone, e-mail and written requests regarding Resort/Area: reservations, site availability, rates, amenities and accommodation.

  • Monitor site/space availability.

  • Coordinate daily with the camp hosts on guest status.

  • Assist/resolve guest conflicts.

  • Maintain and order Resort inventory and office supplies.

  • Assist Salmon Harbor Marina office staff as necessary/needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Two years accounting or bookkeeping experience

Desirable Qualifications: Computer and 10 Key experience.

  • At time of appointment, must possess valid Oregon drivers license

  • Regular and consistent attendance

    Position requires driving. Finalist will be required to provide a driving history that meets the Douglas County Driver Policy (http://www.co.douglas.or.us/hr/risk/safety/driving.asp) as part of contingent offer of employment
