Clinton County Community Action Kitchen Assistant in Wilmington, Ohio

MISSION:

In collaboration with our community, Head Start will provide a safe, high-quality environment that educates and empowers our children and families to be successful, self-advocates throughout their lives.

 

Work Schedule:

M-TH 7-4:30, Full Time, full-year. Some flexibility may be required with after-hours activities. School year with Head Start program, summer schedule with Early Learning Center.

 

Objective:

To assist Kitchen Manager with all aspects of the kitchen in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices in nutrition for seniors and children.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Kitchen Manager to prepare, and serve the prepared menu in the prescribed manner and as scheduled for children and seniors.

  2. Work cooperatively with all staff.

  3. Completes, accurately and timely, all paperwork.

  4. Assures the successful day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

  5. Unload truck, put away food.

  6. Rotate food stock, oldest products to front.

  7. Complete all tasks in a manner consistent with the regulations, rules, policies, practices, and instructions.

  8. Maintains a clean kitchen per Health Department and USDA guidelines and with guidance of Kitchen Manager.

  9. Seeks support from supervisor as needed.

  10. Completes additional tasks as needed and/or as instructed.

  11. Observe and follow all Health Department and USDA rules concerning sanitary food service.

  12. Assures the classroom implementation and/or modifications for children's needed health, and nutrition services per Medical Care Plans.

  13. Transports food to other sites as needed.

  14. All other duties as assigned.

     

     

Supervision: The kitchen assistant reports to the Health/Disabilities/Nutrition Manager

 

Qualifications:

· GED or High School Diploma

· Completion of SERV Safe Handler within 90 days of hire

· 18 years of age or older

· U.S. citizen or legally able to work in the US.

· Completes background checks.

· Completes the employee medical examination.

· Lifts and carries food and related items as needed.

· Must have all required vaccinations.
