Description The Purchasing Agent will support ABX operations with quality goods and services in a timely manner, qualify and manage suppliers to ensure cost effective solutions to requirements and meet operational needs; identify and qualify suppliers and manage high value records; translate corporate requisitions and requests into purchasing documents; integrate internal customer requests into the procurement process to confirm deliverables to meet expectations and corporate needs; other duties as assigned. The role is based in our Wilmington, Ohio corporate office Requirements: High school diploma/GED Two to three years material/services support experience doing advanced administrative functions, including materials support or buying functions Experience in reliability, purchasing, inventory management, or other data reliant functions Proficient with Microsoft Office software Ability to manage daily workload and assignments without direct supervision Experience in discerning qualifications for supplier or service providers Ability to discern proposal pricing and compare relative costs Preferred: Bachelors degree in Business Problem solving skills Experience working and responding to time sensitive work or problems Experience working in operational support Experience negotiating purchase or service requirements Professional purchasing, logistics, material management certifications Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
