CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Computer Systems Engineer.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Computer Systems Engineer

Location: Wilmington, NC

*Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC *

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F, 8-5

Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics

A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as

  • 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining applications using .NET (VB, C#, ASP)

  • Familiar with SQL queries for Oracle or other databases

Requirements:

  • Develop, test, and debug software required for the operation of computer systems used to manufacture optical fiber.

  • Support automation and image processing systems

  • Work on interfaces with control and measurement equipment

  • Interact with customers at all levels in Production, Engineering and IT

  • Some after-hours on-call support may be needed

Required Qualifications

Education

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate use of problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated, applied mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Use of hand and electrical tools.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.

  • Ability to work in a team member role.

  • General computer knowledge (MS office).

  • Strong communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of camera systems

  • Ability/experience with digital image processing and vision systems

  • Familiar with integration of software and electrical hardware

Soft Skills:

  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment

  • Able to communicate equally well with engineers, production associates, and managers

  • Self-motivated, independent, high initiative
