Southern Industrial is looking for Electricians to work out of our Wilmington, NC office on a project in Midland, NC.

Knowledgeable working with electrical systems, drawings, and electrical wiring and support installation according to building plans. Comprehends alternating current, electric lighting, conduit bending, pull and junction boxes, conductor selection and installations, cable tray, conductor terminations and splices, grounding and bonding, circuit breakers and fuses, conduit bending, and control systems. Lays out, fabricates, assembles installs and maintains electrical systems. Understands advance controls, heat tracing, freeze protection, medium voltage terminations and electrical splices. Understands safety practices regarding zero energy state, electrical theory, and the use of hand and power tools. Knowledgeable in using ladders, scaffolds, and motorized equipment. Displays crew leadership.

  • Knowledgeable with blueprints, sketches and building plans pertaining to type of material

  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.

  • Prepares layout, using voltage tester, wire strippers, level, pipe benders etc...

  • Terminates panels utilizing LOTO

  • Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.

  • Run cable tray, pulls wire and bend various types of conduit.

  • Understands motor controls and metering.

  • Size branch circuit overcurrent protection devices.

  • Calculate loads for single phase and three-phase branch circuits.

  • Rates information using standards, which can be measured or checked.

  • Reviews and compares differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.

  • Follow directions, plans, and blueprints.

  • Perform work overhead, beneath structure, and from various other positions as required by working conditions.

  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.

  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.

  • Lift and carry objects of varying weights.

  • Detect, recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.

  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Significant travel may be required.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Conditions may include working in shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, including rooftops and other elevated positions as well as, confined spaces. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, and working in awkward body positions.

Electrical Journey level minimum 4+ years’ experience.
