TBS Site Leader (Tecomet Business Systems)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of TBS Site Leader will be responsible for the support of single plant operations in the development, planning and execution of Lean strategies, culture and metrics providing support to various levels throughout the entire organization for the purpose of linking project metrics to strategic objectives. This position will require an experienced Lean leader with a strong industrial manufacturing background.  The key to success in this position is the ability to identify and drive operational improvements at all levels utilizing a very “hands on” approach to creating value and buy-in as the lead change facilitator for the site business transformation. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop lean manufacturing strategy to ensure the facilities objectives are met in areas of safety, quality, profitability, and waste reduction.

  • This position will drive continuous improvement activities per the lean manufacturing strategy, including Kaizens and projects.

  • This position will provide leadership / mentoring / training to all levels of the site operation on the use and practice of Lean methodology and tools.

  • This position will act as a key driver of change within the plant, supporting management/cross functional decisions by communicating the plant-wide changes to all employees to facilitate learning, understanding, acceptance and active participation in the business’s Lean transformation.

  • This position reports to the site General Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Lean / Continuous Improvement systems (TPS, DBS, ETC) with proven systematic results

  • Engineering degree preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Able to work in ITAR businesses.

  • Proficient in process improvement tools and methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen.

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects to achieve desired results.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Aerospace experience a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand.  The employee could frequently be required to walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.  The employee could be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.   The employee could occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Workers exposed to the production floor could be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, and moderate to loud noise conditions.
