Description

Job Summary:

A Quality NDT Technician performs systems checks and calibration, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and recording of results.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and utilize radiographic testing equipment.

  • Actively participate in Radiation safety Programs.

  • Ensure the work or radiation area is controlled.

  • Calibrate radiographic testing equipment as required.

  • Conduct radiographic tests to ensure quality or detection of discontinuities.

  • Establish techniques for proper examination of welds under inspection while ensuring strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.

  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.

  • Interpret radiographs.

  • Organize and report test results.

  • Complete, maintain and/or submit daily radiation reports for management review, as required.

  • Perform specialized inspections as required.

  • May train and/or provide direction to new hires

  • Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education: Associates degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • Prior certification as an NDT level II in Radiography is required,

  • Digital radiography experience is required.

  • Completion of RT formal training Per SNT- TC1A required

  • Prior certification as an NDT Level I orII with experience hours towards certification to Level II per SNT-TC1A standards on one or more(1) of the following is preferred; UT,VT, MT or PT.

  • Industrial Radiographers Certification Card preferred. (Required for all hired as a Radiographer).

  • Completion of a forty (40) hour Radiation Safety Course preferred. (Required for all hired as a Radiographer).

  • To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position;

  • Adaptability Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment. Manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays and/or unexpected events.

  • Quality demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality

  • Safety actively promotes safety procedures; use all equipment and materials properly.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers and MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interface effectively within and across teams both internally and externally as required.

  • Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification.

This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
