Robert Half Staff Accountant in Wilmington, Delaware

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in our accounting department by assisting with the auditing process, conducting financial research, processing journal entries, assisting with tax preparation, preparing financial reports, and balancing the general ledger.

Responsibilities:

• Support daily accounting functions to ensure smooth operation of the department

• Participate in Month End/Year End Close activities to maintain accurate financial records

• Carry out Account Reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of our financial data

• Maintain the general ledger by posting and revising entries

• Prepare and record Journal Entries to keep our financial records up-to-date

• Resolve accounting discrepancies to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial information

• Engage in ad hoc projects as requested to support the overall goals of the accounting department

The candidate should have diverse accounting skills including proficiency in CCH Prosystem, QuickBooks, Audit, and Creative Problem Solving. Strong communication skills and a CPA qualification are also essential for this role. Requirements

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant for a minimum of 2 years.

• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically CCH ProSystem and QuickBooks.

• Demonstrated ability in conducting Audit processes and procedures.

• Exceptional creative problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.

• A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.

• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software.

• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong organization and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Excellent attention to detail.
