Description:

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an experienced RN Clinical Administrator to join our team!

Schedule

Full-time Day Shift, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm / Every other weekend and rotating holidays

The Clinical Administrator is responsible for continuity of operations within the facility by overseeing all patient admissions, discharges and transfer activity. Ensures optimal flow of patients from all points of entry throughout the continuum. This person serves as a liaison between/among all clinical departments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serves as a role model for customer service.

  • Ensure organizational specific customer service standards and behaviors are maintained.

  • Round on patients as appropriate.

  • Promotes customer relations and develops staff to provide a positive experience for patients and visitors.

  • Maintains current information about the hospital’s bed availability

  • Ensure proper bed utilization and management throughout the hospital.

  • Assist staff members by resolving complex problems in the areas of census verification, bed assignment and utilization review.

  • Ensures compliance with hospital departmental policies and procedures.

  • Plans for bed availability with information about scheduled Rounds throughout the day to collect additional information and adjust the bed plan.

  • Communicates discharge issues as well as delays in care/treatment to hospital administration and medical staff as necessary.

  • Coordinates with case managers and unit staff to ensure appropriate and timely admissions/.transfers/discharges.

  • Coordinates with physicians groups to facilitate appropriate admissions/transfers/discharges.

  • Round on each unit/department leader to ensure continuity of care

  • Assess risk management issues as they arise, consults with risk management and provides guidance to personnel on these issues.

  • Participates in nursing audits as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing highly preferred

  • At least 2-3 years experience in the acute care setting preferred

  • Previous Supervisor or Charge Nurse experience required

  • Must possess sound computer literacy.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work with multiple levels of staff.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
