As a Principal Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking line of business, you, you provide expertise and engineering excellence as an integral part of an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Leverage your advanced technical capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes across various technologies to support one or more of the firm's portfolios.

Job responsibilities

  • Leads Credit Card Modernization efforts from the center enabling Card Products to accelerate their respective modernization roadmaps

  • Delivers high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions using appropriate software design frameworks

  • Develops horizontal capabilities needed across all Card products as they modernize to public cloud

  • Collaborates with all Consumer and Community Bank (CCB) product groups to align their roadmaps to Card roadmaps

  • Partners with CCB Cloud enablement teams and Global Technology Infrastructure product groups to ensure Card priorities are taken care, and deliver on modernization book-of-work.

  • Provides strategic direction for the technology roadmap and ensure alignment with business objectives, and Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams

  • Leads the implementation of non-functional requirements including IT risk standards and policies

  • Collaborates with product owners and business leaders to identify technical solutions that drive business growth and competitiveness

  • Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within your domain of expertise

  • Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert

  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience

  • Experience in hands-on Technology Leadership, with a demonstrated ability to drive transformation initiatives on Public Cloud, specifically AWS

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Expert in one or more programming language(s) specifically, the Java stack,

  • Experienced in Event driven architecture and Micro services / APIs

  • Mastery of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

  • Strengths in cloud (AWS) native software engineering efforts

  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines

  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager

  • Ability to present and effectively communicate with Senior Leaders and Executives

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Background in Credit Card domain and Banking

  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices

  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management

  • Expertise in working in in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
