CTG is seeking to fill a GCM Relationship Manager I/Client Associate (Corporate Trust) opening for our client in Wilmington, DE.

Location: Wilmington, DE

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

The GCM Relationship Manager I will manage client relationships and the daily administration of assigned Global Capital Markets (GCM) accounts with simple to moderate intricacy, complexity, and risk. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients and internal/external service partners, focusing on strategies to achieve sustainable earnings growth while ensuring compliance with Bank and Division strategic plans. The position involves delivering exceptional service and maintaining internal controls across all GCM transactions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor administrative and operational systems related to accounts to ensure compliance with established policies and guidelines.

  • Review and analyze operative documents and agreements for assigned accounts, providing feedback to legal counsel.

  • Coordinate risk monitoring and regulatory compliance activities with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Audit.

  • Research and resolve issues related to control and client service aspects of accounts to maintain high customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with external parties, including attorneys and financial advisors, to structure and close GCM transactions efficiently.

  • Manage account administration activities, including cash flow execution, fee billing, and reporting.

  • Assist in sales calls to current and prospective clients and support the preparation of fee proposals for new business opportunities.

  • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients to identify new business opportunities.

  • Implement approved fee changes and monitor aged receivables in partnership with Fee Billing.

  • Provide support to other Relationship Managers as needed.

  • Represent GCM at transaction closings and client meetings, preparing relevant documentation to enhance client relationships.

  • Participate in departmental projects and corporate initiatives as required.

  • Understand and adhere to risk and regulatory standards, identifying issues that need escalation.

  • Promote a diverse environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain internal control standards and implement audit recommendations as applicable.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The role will partner with Global Capital Markets Relationship Managers to support periodic Administrative Account Reviews for trust accounts. This includes identifying required account documents, ensuring proper setup and coding, resolving exceptions, conducting quality assurance monitoring, and escalating issues to management as necessary.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

May supervise and/or mentor less experienced associates.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in relationship management, banking, or finance.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management practices.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Previous experience in Global Capital Markets or a related field.

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA).

  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and audit processes.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
